"Your brother created ISIS": Jeb Bush blasted by student, 19, over George's Iraq war legacy

A 19-year-old student blasted US politician Jeb Bush today, telling him: “Your brother created ISIS”.
Bush, who is expected to run for president and is the brother of former president George W. Bush, was at a town hall meeting in Reno, Nevada, when teenager Ivy Ziedrich launched her attack.

She claimed that American foreign policy towards the Middle East, particularly the 2003 invasion of Iraq, resulted in a power vacuum which the murderous group have filled.

“You stated that ISIS was created because we don't have enough presence and we've been pulling out of the Middle East,” she said.

"However, the threat of ISIS was created by the Iraqi coalition authority, which ousted the entire government of Iraq.

"It was when 30,000 individuals who are part of the Iraqi military were forced out.
"They had no employment, they had no income, yet they were left with access to all the same arms and weapons.
"Your brother created ISIS!”

Bush told Ms Ziedrich: “We respectfully disagree.”

According to ABC, he told her more American troops in Iraq would have prevented ISIS from forming, adding: “So look, we can rewrite history all you want, but the simple fact is that we're in a much more unstable place because America pulled back."

Today Jeb Bush reversed course and said that based on information now known, had it been up to him he would not have waged war against Iraq, putting some distance between himself and his brother.
Bush told Fox News in an interview broadcast this week that he would have authorised the invasion, referring to the drive into Iraq ordered by his brother in 2003.

But today, after a week of criticism, Bush revisited the issue at a town hall event in Tempe, a suburb of Phoenix, saying, "Knowing what we know now, I would have not engaged, I would have not gone into Iraq.”
An argument for the Iraq war was based on allegations that then-Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction.
No such weapons were found after the invasion.
